About this property
Electrostatic charge on the belt can be caused by friction between the belt and the sliding bed, and/or the movement of the transported product, or by ionization of the air (dry and dusty environments). Although the electrostatic charge is usually of low intensity, it can cause problems such as small pieces of product getting stuck to the top cover of the belt. They can also be dangerous in places where there is a risk of sparks and in environments sensitive to deflagrations.
To prevent this problem, esbelt® has developed a series of conveyor belts where certain components are added to change the characteristics of the belt, so that instead of accumulating electrostatic charge, it directs it to the chassis of the conveyor.
The standard that currently regulates the measurement of surface electrical resistance is ISO 284. esbelt® has a wide range of antistatic belts, both for use in horizontal conveyors and for bucket elevators.
